Description

Hak5 Key Croc is a smart keylogger and penetration-testing implant for authorised engagements. It can pass keyboard input through to a host while recording keystrokes, monitor for defined key sequences and run an approved payload when a matching pattern is entered. Use it only on systems and accounts where testing has been explicitly authorised.

Compatibility and setup

Key Croc connects to a target computer through USB. Hak5 documents deployment with an IBM-PC-compatible USB keyboard. Configuration uses the device’s USB storage interface and a standard text editor, including Notepad on Windows, TextEdit on macOS, or vim and nano on Linux.
