About PiKVM

PiKVM is an open-source project launched in 2017 to provide an extensible alternative to conventional KVM over IP systems. Its hardware lets authorised users access a computer through a web browser, independently of the host operating system, remote ports or installed services.

PiKVM V4 Plus

The PiKVM V4 Plus is a hardware KVM over IP device for one computer or server. Manufacturer-published functions include HDMI video capture up to 1920x1200 at 60Hz, keyboard and mouse emulation, remote power control, BIOS and UEFI access, and virtual media through a virtual CD-ROM or flash drive. It also supports two-way audio, web camera forwarding, one-time passwords, encryption, API-based management and optional internal LTE modem installation.

For penetration testing teams and security consultancies, a PiKVM V4 Plus can support authorised physical-access assessments, remote console testing, recovery workflows and research involving systems before an operating system or remote service is available. Use it only on equipment and networks where permission has been granted.
