Beschreibung
Project Reboot by Mindstorm Security is a practical training target for authorised hardware security assessments and security education. It presents a robot-recovery scenario with challenges covering low-level interfaces, embedded data and Bluetooth communication. The progressive format supports guided learning while giving experienced practitioners a structured target for refining hardware reverse-engineering methods.
Key features
- Four protocol-based hardware auditing challenges using UART, I²C, SPI and BLE.
- UART challenge involving recovery-console access and pseudo-filesystem inspection.
- I²C challenge based on analysing sensor traffic and reconstructing a flag.
- SPI challenge involving external flash and firmware data.
- BLE challenge involving modes, packets, characteristics and flag submission.
- Normal and Hard modes for each challenge.
- Walkthrough material covering relevant theory, techniques, software and commands.
- Suitable for individual practice, classroom use and structured team training.
Technical details
- Training target board developed by the MACOBOX team.
- Interfaces covered: UART, I²C, SPI and BLE.
- Available packs: Basic device-only pack and Complete Pack with the tools and accessories required for the challenges.
Compatibility and setup
The Complete Pack is intended to provide the tools, accessories, wires and related items used for the exercises. The Basic pack is intended for users who already have suitable hardware-auditing equipment. The published material covers software and commands, but a specific host operating system requirement is not confirmed.
Buying in the UK and EU
Project Reboot is available to UK and EU buyers in GBP, EUR or USD, with VAT handled at checkout. Use the board only for systems and devices you own or have explicit permission to assess; BLE and other radio-related activity must comply with applicable UK or EU rules.
